AGQ Student conference

We are organising the first AGQ CDT conference to take place on the 4th and 5th November in Glasgow.  Please read below for more information.

Location: Glasgow Grosvenor Hotel

Date and time: 10am 4th November – 5:30pm 5th November

Description: The conference will showcase the work of PhD students and early career researchers, as well as provide an opportunity to build networks and exchange useful insights (namely regarding career paths). Conference events will include talks in the themes of algebra, geometry and mathematical physics, from select postdoctoral researchers and later year PhD students, as well as a careers session featuring Eugénie Hunsicker. There will also be the opportunity for some shorter contributed talks (15 min) by PhD students, given in breakout rooms at the venue. Sign-ups for these are available in the registration form.

How to register:

If you would like to attend, please fill in the relevant form by October 10th to register. Funding for travel and accommodation will be determined using this form. So long as the venue capacity allows, we are extending the invitation to PhD students at nearby universities, so please do apply if you are close enough to arrive at the Glasgow Grosvenor Hotel by 10am on the 4th November.

  • For students at the University of Glasgow, University of Edinburgh or Heriot-Watt University, please register here!
  • For external PhD students, please fill the form here to indicate your interest to attend, and we will confirm if there is remaining capacity and funding available.

Timetable:

To see what we have planned for you, here is the schedule. This includes the full timetable, the panellists on the careers panel, as well as the full lineup of speakers.
