Algebraic Surfaces

Algebraic surfaces are two-dimensional spaces locally cut out by a set of polynomial equations of the form f(x, y, z) = 0 over an arbitrary field k. In this report, we will give a short tour of algebraic surfaces; in particular we focus on rational surfaces, K3 surfaces, and surfaces of general type.
