Higher Algebra
In recent years, it has been fruitful in many areas of geometry to work in the derived setting, i.e., considering mathematical objects up to homotopy. Lurie’s seminal book Higher Algebra is the standard resource for anyone seeking to define such concepts via (infinity, 1)-categories.
Some knowledge of (infinity, 1)-categories would be very useful, but not necessary, as we will start with a lightning introduction to higher categories. Then, we aim to cover the core concepts from the first two chapters of HA and some of the third, if time permits. Specifically, we will cover stable infinity categories and infinity operads.
