The Administrative Team
This CDT is a training and research environment created together by our PhD supervisors and PhD students. Delivery of the CDT is overseen by the executive team and the administrative team, working in conjunction with external engagement teams and colleagues providing wider CDT roles.

Manager/CoordinatorUniversity of Edinburgh & Heriot-Watt UniversityJoyce Ternenge is the Edinburgh-based manager of the AGQ CDT and brings extensive experience in higher education, particularly in project management, research, and stakeholder collaboration. She specialises in public engagement, knowledge transfer and advocacy. Joyce holds an MSc in Environment and Development from the University of Edinburgh and a BTech in Geology, bringing diverse professional and geographical expertise. Outside of her career, she’s a happy mom of two.

Beata Kohlbek
AGQ CDT AdministratorHeriot-Watt UniversityBeata Kohlbek is the Heriot-Watt University Administrator for AGQ CDT. She previously worked at the University of Edinburgh in various teaching and administrative roles since 2018 and holds a PhD in English. Beata contributes experience in Heriot-Watt and University of Edinburgh administration and systems as well as having a teaching, fundraising and project management background in all areas of Education. She enjoys hiking, reading, adding new languages and studying history.
