Hello all!
We have the pleasure of inviting you to our free PhD information event, aimed at all women and non-binary undergraduate or MSc students. This will be happening on Wednesday 27th November at 5pm on the 5th floor of Bayes Centre.
This will be a casual opportunity to get information on PhD applications and chat to female PhD students about our experiences as women in maths research (whilst enjoying free food at the top floor of Bayes!)
Register here with your dietary requirements before Wednesday 20th: https://forms.gle/hXo6NueuJvgoQCgo8
Even if you’re unsure about doing a PhD, come along and find out what life as a PhD student looks like! Many of us didn’t consider research until we heard from other female and non-binary students and realised we had a lot more in common than we thought.
More about the event: This is a casual opportunity to learn more about the pros and cons of doing a PhD, as well as some dos and don’ts for making an application. There will also be plenty of time for you to ask questions to female PhD students about their experiences as women in mathematical research. If you can’t be in Edinburgh, you can attend online with a Zoom link we will send to your email closer to the time.
Let us know if you have any questions, concerns or suggestions at sophie.bleau27@ed.ac.uk.
We hope to see you soon!
Best,
Piscopia Edinburgh
